The New Forest is one the most Instagrammed locations in the entire world
And the fifth in the UK
When you come to Bournemouth, or anywhere in the South East, it’s probably on your bucket list to visit The New Forest at least once if you haven’t already. Well if you do go, be sure to take a snap and Insta it – just like over 250,000 other people worldwide.
According to Travel Bird, who have created a rank of the most hashtagged destinations in the UK and around the world, our beloved New Forest came in at fifth in the UK with a huge 287,818 tags.
Big Ben took the UK top spot, completely overshadowing the opposition with over two and a half million tags, followed by Buckingham Palace in 2nd place with 586,990.

The New Forest also came in at 61st in the world – yes the entire world – shortly followed by places such as Snowdonia, Salt Lake, and Lincoln Memorial. Just above The New Forest in 60th position is the iconic Hoover Dam, Arizona.
The top three most Instagrammed locations worldwide are: Disneyland California (14.6 million tags), The Eiffel Tower (7.2 million tags) and Walt Disney World Florida (5.4 million tags).
The travel and holidays company also found that 55 per cent of UK Instagram users have an average age of between 18 and 29 and just 4 per cent are over 65.
