Breaking: Aberdeen Uni students to be given RGU diplomas as consequence of recent strikes

AU marking would not be finished in time for graduation

Aberdeen University exams will this year be marked by professors from Robert Gordon University, following the recent lecturer strikes.

This means that all students in their final year at AU will be given RGU diplomas instead.

Aberdeen University has been hit hard by the strikes, causing many classes to be cancelled and exams and deadlines to be postponed.

As a result, exam marking is unable to be completed by Aberdeen uni staff in time for graduation.

A graduating student, said: “I am totally shocked at the news and think it’s awful that we have to resort to this.

“Hopefully we’ll all get firsts as a result.”
