All the petty drama that went down when Samie and Tom split up TWICE after Love Island

Samie Elishi is the latest bombshell to join Love Island All Stars, a year after her ex Tom Clare returned to the villa and won with Molly. But wind back to when Samie and Tom left Love Island together, and there was a lot of drama.

They’ve both very clearly moved on now, but at the time it was a whirlwind. Samie and Tom met on the winter Love Island in 2023, broke up, got back together, and then broke up again. Plus, during this time there were shady posts and makeup posts a plenty. So, here’s a complete rundown of everything that happened.

Samie and Tom left Love Island 2023 together, but split up just a month later

Samie and Tom met in the 2023 South Africa villa and finished in third position that year. Not long after returning to the UK, they posted to say they’d officially become boyfriend and girlfriend. But just a month later, it was reported they’d split.

At the time, a source told The Sun: “Samie and Tom have sadly decided to call it a day. There is a lot of love and respect there but it just wasn’t going anywhere. The distance between them was too much and they are both really focused on their careers post Love Island.”

They both then posted to say they were on “good terms” and there was “a lot of love there”. Samie added “it just wasn’t working on the outside.”

Just months after their initial split, it became quite clear Samie and Tom were giving things another go. On a friend’s Instagram story, they could be seen closely chatting on holiday together, and they were pictured at events.

TikTok then went feral for it, and started finding pictures of Samie on her Instagram, and “proof” they had been taken at Tom’s house. It was wild, but the sleuthing dedication was on another level.

After then the flood gates were taken off, and Samie and Tom began getting spotted together all over the place. Tom spoke about getting back with Samie. – and admitted he wouldn’t be interested in dating anyone else. He then posted a soppy TikTok about Samie, calling her his crush, and said in an interview he was “off the market”.

Never mind! They broke up again!

Literally weeks later, they split up once again. In August 2023, Samie said she was “officially single” and it was noted the pair had unfollowed each other on Insta. Classic.

Oh, if you think the second break up was going to be the end of their story you’re very much wrong. Samie and Tom then became locked in a back and forth of making petty TikToks about one another.

The first came from Samie, who posted a video alongside fellow Islander, Ellie Spence. In it, the two girls were lip-syncing a sound which said “so I used to date this guy” before retching loudly. Tom clearly wasn’t too bothered. He posted a video in return, in his car lip-syncing “why are you so obsessed with me?”.

Samie was rumoured for All Stars last year, but ‘immediately withdrew’ when she heard Tom was in the cast

After all of this, Tom was confirmed as part of the Love Island All Stars 2024 cast. Samie was also rumoured for the show, but apparently found out Tom was going to be on it and “immediately withdrew”.

A source said: “It’s fair to say Samie and Tom don’t really get on these days. There’s too much water under the bridge now. The idea of being back in the Cape Town villa – the same one where they first fell in love – was too much for Samie so once she heard Tom was in the mix it was an immediate ‘hell no’ to bosses.

“She knew they’d be put in awkward situations and likely have to kiss in challenges or at the very least watch each other cracking on.”

Tom is now all loved up with Molly, and Samie is back on All Stars

Last year Tom won Love Island All Stars alongside Molly Smith. The couple are still together now, and have bought a home. Samie briefly dated TOWIE star and footballer Harry Lee after her split from Tom, but they broke up. Let’s see if Samie has the same success as her ex on All Stars!
