Teenagers arrested following stabbing at The Level, Brighton

Two people were hospitalised as a result of wounds caused by a knife

On Monday 17 September, three teenagers were involved in a disagreement at The Level, Brighton, resulting in two hospital admissions and three arrests. Two suffered wounds that are believed to have been caused by a knife.

Appearing at Brighton Magistrates' Court yesterday, Kia Zanre, an 18 year old from Redbridge, has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife in a public space.

Another 18 year old was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, alongside a 16 year old, arrested with suspicion of affray. Both are still under arrest and the investigation is ongoing.

Detective Inspector, Simon Morgan, said that: “The two who suffered stab wounds as a result of this altercation have been lucky as their injuries could have been a lot worse."

The two in hospital remain in a stable condition.
