Housing is particularly expensive here; we already knew that. This study confirms that, with the average monthly rent in this area being £819.00 per month. The average monthly cost of living is then put at a huge £905.83.

If a graduate has an average salary, they will lose £316.90 of their annual savings by living in Sussex.

Most expensive places to live as a graduate

Furthermore, Brighton's average weekly wage is below the national average. Whilst the national average is £539, Brighton is far lower at £496 as reported by the BBC.

If you fancy moving somewhere cheaper, Stoke-on-Trent has an average monthly cost of living of £693.67 which is a whopping £212.16 less than Sussex.
