There will be no water on campus today and tomorrow

Water you gonna do?

Due to essential maintenance works, there will be no water supply available on campus today, Wednesday January 3 at 11pm until 9am tomorrow, Thursday January 4. This includes student residences and food services.

In a broadcast published yesterday, the university said: "All buildings on campus will be affected, and will be without any water supply during the shutdown period.

"However the Estates and Facilities team has ensured that special arrangements are in place for occupants of specific buildings with particular needs during this period. Bottled water will also be provided where required."

The university has recommended students should arrive on campus no earlier than 9am on Thursday as buildings will be without a water supply until this time, including toilet facilities.

Food services on campus will open after 10am on Thursday. Opening hours for Bramber's Co-op shop and the Student Union shop in Falmer House should not be affected.

A very limited water supply will be available to students in some accommodations via emergency water tanks in their residence buildings, as well as bottled water. Other residencies will be provided with alternative temporary arrangements.

Details for specific residences are available from the Service Centre via email [email protected] or by phone at 01273 877777.
