Campus style: East Slope bar special

70s was the most popular look of the night

You may think that you are safe popping down to East Slope bar in your trackies and your high tops for a quick ‘Slopebite’ and some pool – think again.

Go to the slope dressed like a slob and people are being sick in their mouths as you spill nachos on your Jack Wills gillet. These finely-dressed folk are February’s best.

The guys:

Michael, Business and Finance, second year

Clashing navy blue and black, often considered a major fashion ‘faux pas’, works so well here. The scarf brings colour to this dark ensemble.

Oscar, Journalism, second year

Good use of tones from neutral grey to navy and caroche. Oscar is sporting skater brand Palace and Carhartt contributing to his effortless urban look.

Connor, Business Management and Law, second year

Connor wears a fun clash of colours and patterns. The striped tee seems to be a wardrobe must. Despite the clash, somehow it works, even if the floral cap is a love/hate item.

Max, Physics, second year

Max is the epitome of East Slope style. He is slightly channelling a ‘robber look’; but it works. His outfit is simple and put-together but looks effortless. What’s particularly impressive here is how he makes Converses look like a must have

The gals:

Catherine, Psychology, first year

The all black everythang is lifted by Catherine’s red hair and lips making it vibrant. The silver buttons and mixtures of textures make this a very 70s revival look.

Shannon, first year

The classic American Apparel black ‘Lolita crop top’ is matched perfectly with a white denim 70s button-up skirt; an essential of 2015. The white trainers make this look super cute and causal.

Holly, Law, first year

The grey polo neck and the front zip up boots are super-stylish pieces, and the look is made suitable for the evening by the large white fur color and the dark purple lip.

Could an East Slope ensemble be any better than this?

We can see 70s revival in this look. The suede skirt and the black sleeveless polar neck with fishnet stitching detail works well with the funky high lace up boots.
