Fashion Week’s Fall Trends

Qian Geng on the runway trends you can bring to the bubble.

| UPDATED

With fashion week finished and temperatures steadily (or in the case of St Andrews: drastically) dropping, there is no better time to shop for a brand new fall wardrobe than right now. Get inspired by the latest trends straight from the London and Paris runways and incorporate this season’s “it” pieces into your (Scottish, all-weather proof) wardrobe!

Robe Coats

Is there anything better than rolling out of bed and wrapping yourself up in a big, comfy robe coat on a cold October morning, while looking ridiculously “vogue” at the same time? Maybe a Pumpkin Spiced Latte (after all, it is pumpkin-spiced-everything-month).

As seen on the runways of Chloé and Altuzarra, these pieces are very versatile. They go with almost anything: just throw your coat on and you’re ready to go!

Plaid

Nothing says “Scotland” better than plaid. Combine it with a Barbour jacket, Hunter boots and a Burberry scarf – voilà – the ultimate cliché (we still love it)! However, there are ways of wearing it without looking like the beloved St Andrews stereotype.

Emerald

As the sun kissed glow from summer slowly fades, no trend is more flattering than Emerald; it’s the colour that most enhances porcelain skin. Whether you want to wear Emerald from head to toe, as just a splash of colour or as a rich eye shadow, this deep shade of green will definitely make you stand out.

Fur

It’s hardly a surprising trend and undoubtedly a timeless winter staple. Wearing fur is the easiest way to stay both warm and stylish! Extra points if you can pull off a fur jacket or combine it with leather.
