Southampton shooting leaves woman injured

Dom BakerAuthorities were called to Cuckmere Lane, Southampton after gun shots were heard around 6.20pm last night (20 August).
Armed police and ambulances swarmed the scene and a woman was taken to Southampton General Hospital with a serious gun shot wound.
Police have arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in custody.
Reports also came in today that a sawn-off shotgun had been recovered from the scene.
One resident of Cuckmere Lane spoke to the Daily Echo: "There was an armed response team which was pretty scary as well as loads of police cars, ambulances and other emergency services."
Another said to the Echo: "There have been problems with drug dealers in the area before but nothing like this.”
Police urge anyone with information to come forward by calling 101 and quoting '44180315791'.
