Southampton Uni to strike for at least five more days
16-20 April
The UCU has announced that several universities will resume strike action after the Easter holidays. Clearly yesterday's meeting did not go well.
This is the first step toward the possibility of industrial action during the exam period. All third year students, say your prayers now before it's too late.
There is the danger of students breaking rank and turning against their lecturers if the strikes continue to escalate, especially since universities have given no signal they have even considered widespread student compensation.
But, alas, we must not complain for we are but cogs in the much bigger machine.
Food for thought.
