Vice President Student Communities, Oli Coles has announced he will not be continuing his second year as a Sabb.

VP Student Communities, Oli Coles.

Oli was elected in February to continue his role as VP Student Communities in February. His current term ends on 30th June, where he was due to continue immediately when the new Sabbatical Officers start. Oli has announced today he would not be continuing the job for reasons currently unknown.

Oli said:

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time this year at SUSU. I’ve worked with some amazing people over the last 12 months, and hope that the projects I’ve worked on will create positive change for students in the future. This was a hard decision for me to make, but in the four months since I decided to seek re-election, I’ve had some time to think, and changed my mind about doing another year. I think one term is enough for me, and still gives SUSU time to find someone passionate about student communities to take on the role next year.

He goes on to say:

I’d like to thank everyone who I’ve worked with over the past year, both staff and students, for making this year one of the most enjoyable I’ve had in my years at SUSU, and I wish you all the best for the future.

A by-election will be held this term, with nominations opening on Friday 30th May and the results revealed on 13th June. We expect more details to be released on this election soon.
