There have been reports that a major police hunt took place in the St Denys area of Portswood yesterday. One of the suspects was reportedly armed with a machete. As of present it is still not clear if the search has ended.

According to the Daily Echo: “The drama began at around 9am this morning when three men are reported to have called on a house in Collier Close and forced their way in and attacked a man inside. It is not thought to have been a random attack.”

Police arrived promptly on the scene and gave chase. According to reports, two of the men escaped, one of which was seen with a bladed weapon resembling a machete.

Members of the public have been urged not to approach the suspects and to call 999 immediately if they believe they have seen them.

There has been an extensive police search of the area, involving a helicopter and a team of several officers.
