Tuesday 12th December: Arriva bus strike CALLED OFF

It comes after Arriva North West have tabled a new offer

The Arriva bus strike on Tuesday 12th December has been cancelled after Arriva made a new offer of a two year pay rise.

Arriva previously called off the strike on Thursday 7th December as a 'gesture of goodwill.' Out of the nine strikes planned for December only one has gone ahead and two have been cancelled.

Drivers are voting on the new deal on Monday and Tuesday, but if they vote against the deal future strikes could still go ahead. Notably, the union has not recommended workers vote either way.

Every offer from Arriva up to this point has seen the union recommend that the drivers vote to reject the deal. This decision will have many of us hoping a compromise is close to being negotiated, and that we will see an end to these vexatious strikes.

The strikes that will still go ahead are as follows:

Wednesday 13th December

Thursday 14th December

Wednesday 20th December

Thursday 21st December

Friday 22nd December

Saturday 23rd December

There is also a double rail and bus strike planned for Friday 22nd December which will cause transport turmoil throughout the Merseyside region.
