Shrewd freshers blagged their way into the Welcome Ball after forging tickets.

The savvy students saved themselves £60 by printing fake wristbands that only cost them £2 to make.

The group, who want to remain anonymous, managed to fool bouncers at the Welcome Ball with their homemade tickets – and they even found other students at the event who had done the same thing.

They told The Tab: “We were nervous at first, but the bouncer didn’t give a shit – it was so easy.

“When we got in, we met two other students who had done the same thing.

“It only took a couple of quid and four hours in front of a computer screen to make.

“The original bands were ridiculously priced and unreasonable for someone on a student budget.”

They enjoyed the events for a fraction of the price

The students tried their luck by forging the Platinum wristbands offered by the Guild, and it paid off.

They enjoyed DJ Fresh’s set for a tiny three percent of the cost while others broke the bank to see the Oxford born DJ.

But the Guild insist no one was allowed in unless they had a genuine wristband.

They said: “Only genuine wristbands to Welcome Week events were admitted.

“Our wristbands were priced in line with other student unions and represented excellent value for money.”
