Lincoln Marrow are holding a #Match4Lara drive at the SU

Sign up to the Anthony Nolan register tomorrow

A registration event for Lincoln Marrow is taking place at the students union for the #match4lara cause tomorrow.

Lara was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in December 2015 and desparately needs a stem cell transplant.

However, her Thai-Italian heritage has threatened the likelihood of finding a genetic match as only 3% of donors on the public stem cell registries are of mixed race.

You can sign up to the Anthony Nolan register at our recruitment event tomorrow (February 3rd) at the SU.

All it takes is for you to sign a short registration form and to spit in a tube, it’s as simple as that.

For more information visit the match4laura Facebook page, and the event page for the registration tomorrow at Lincoln SU.

The event will run from 10am – 4pm so make sure you get down there in time and help Lara find the match she needs.

Lara said: “All my friends and family have been amazingly supportive from the very beginning. It was a shame to find out that my brother wasn’t a match but in no time my family had got the donor appeal up and running.

“I really can’t express how grateful and touched I am by everyone who has helped raise awareness and has signed up to bone marrow registries in response to the campaign. Thank you all so much.”
