Lancaster University announces which exams will be held in-person ‘where absolutely necessary’

All other departments will hold exams online

Lancaster University has announced that in-person exams will only go ahead for those studying “Biomedical and Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Law, Mathematics and Statistics, Medicine, Physics”.

All written exams will be held online for those studying subjects not stated on that list.

Exams for Part II students will commence on or after Week 21, Monday 25th April 2022, and Part I students won’t have exams any sooner than Week 27, Monday 6th June.

Professor Jane Taylor, University Dean for Academic Quality, said: “The majority of examinations will be held online again this year, though some exams must take place in-person.

“Not all PSRBs have requested in-person exams, so the University has taken the decision to only schedule these where absolutely necessary.”

If you don’t study Biomedical and Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Law, Mathematics and Statistics, Medicine or Physics, “you can expect all of your written examinations to be online.”

Full exam timetables will be released at the end of February.
