Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift is currently on the European leg of her long awaited Eras Tour. She is performing top hits all the way from her debut album Taylor Swift, to her latest release The Tortured Poet’s Department for three nights at Wembley Arena. The Eras Tour has taken over the internet, from Swifties posting their DIY’d outfits to match the theme of their favourite albums as well as their reactions to Taylor’s surprise songs such as Mean and thanK you aIMee. However, any fan attending King’s will be delighted to know that the superstar does in fact still remember us all too well.

Naturally, the nostalgic nature of Eras Tour prompted her to reminisce during one of her latest UK shows. Taylor noted : “The first show that I did in London, I think I was (about) 17 and I started out playing (at) King’s College (London)”.

Taylor’s first ever UK show was at The Vault, in September 2008 where she performed songs from her self titled debut album Taylor Swift as well as her renowned sophomore album Fearless containing classics like Love Story and You Belong With Me. The audience comprised of King’s students were the first in the UK to preview her upcoming work and get a glimpse of the future Pop icon. She also payed homage to UK artist Amy Winehouse, mixing in Rehab by Amy Winehouse into her set.

This is not the first time that Taylor has talked about her humble beginnings at King’s as after winning Best International Female at the 2015 Brit Awards, saying :”I started out playing King’s College and eight years later I’m getting ready to play Hyde Park”.

Although the UK leg of the Eras Tour will be finishing in London this August, King’s Swifties would love nothing more, than to have Taylor perform at the Vault once again. We’ll be waiting, dust collecting on Reggie’s mane right where you left us!
