Nineteen-year-old’s ear bitten off during Glasgow nightclub fight

Two men were admitted to hospital


A 19-year-old had part of his ear bitten off during a fight in Light nightclub.

The fight included a “large number” of people and happened in the main club area at around 1.40am on Sunday morning. Another 19-year-old was involved and both teens needed hospital treatment.
They were treated at Glasgow Royal Infirmary but were later released. Their injuries were described as “serious”.
Bouncers and staff members tried to break up the fight.
Detective Sergeant Colin MacRitchie said: “We are still trying to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.

“People routinely visit the city centre to enjoy the varied nightlife which is on offer. We will not tolerate any violent incident which places people in a state of fear and alarm and results in serious injuries.

“I’d like to speak to anyone who was within Light nightclub on Saturday night into Sunday morning. If you witnessed the incident and have information which can assist our inquiry please get in contact.”
