New halls to cost a massive £11,000 a year

Exeter’s poshest student living will cost almost £1,000 a month – taking the cost of a degree to £100,000.

In accommodation far removed from the squalor of normal student houses these pictures show what some lucky pupils joining Exeter Uni later this year can expect.

The development of the old city library and records office into 44 luxury flats aimed at undergraduates will be ready in time for the next intake of students.

Price range up to £11,220 per student a year, and flats come equipped with all the latest appliances including 100MB broadband, 24-hour helpdesk services, Wi-Fi and flat-screen smart TV.

The development is being run by property developer Burrington Estates, who have already converted another building in the city into luxury student apartments.
