Mo money mo problems

The management of University finances is under investigation by Police Scotland’s Economic Crime Unit.

The financial irregularities are said to have taken place in a “support department”.

Police were tipped off by the uni about a former employee’s management of the University’s cash.

A police spokesman said: “We have received a complaint regarding concerns over the management of finances at Edinburgh University by a former employee.”

Another day in the life of Sir Tim.

A University spokesman confirmed they “alerted the police to an issue relating to potential financial irregularities within a support department.”

“This is now the subject of an internal inquiry at the University and a Police Scotland investigation.”

In addition to its own investigation the University said they were “assisting the police in every way possible with their inquiries.”

The Police said: “The Economic Crime Unit has a positive line of inquiry and while our investigation is ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
