The Cambridge Tab poetry competition: Liberation

Calling all student poets to submit to The Tab’s newest poetic endeavour

We are reviving the Tab’s Poetry Section with a bang, and I am personally buzzing to kick-start this new era with the Tab’s very own poetry competition!

I’m pleased to announce that the theme decided for this term is (*drumroll please*): LIBERATION.

Feel free to use, interpret and apply the theme to anything your heart desires, from the many struggles for liberation across the world, to a personally liberating moment (e.g finally submitting your essay after being shackled to a library desk).

What we are looking for:

• A poetry piece inspired by the designated theme: Liberation

• A poem written by you, set in verse, of any form and up to 500 lines in length

• Only one submission per person

Submissions:

Submissions to the competition are open from Sunday 5th to Thursday 30th of November 2023.
SUBMISSION FORM: https://forms.gle/xj8naX1KyCreTGF66

Please submit your poem as a word document with your full name and CRSiD.

Prizes:

Winners will be decided by the end of term and will win the very auspicious prize of a £15 Waterstones voucher. They will also have their poem published in The Tab with an accompanying interview explaining their creative process.

We can’t wait to see what you cook up! Make sure to follow The Tab’s Instagram page (@thecambridgetab) to see news and updates on the competition.
