Huge cannabis factory discovered near Selly Oak

The fire service accidentally found it when responding to another call out


A massive weed factory operating in Bournville was accidentally foiled by West Midlands Fire Service when they respond to a separate call out last night.

West Midlands Police have confirmed the discovery of a second cannabis factory near to Selly Oak early this morning, thought to be worth thousands of pounds.

Officers discovered the haul at around 5:20am completely by accident.

West Midlands Fire Service had been responding to a call about a  house alarm going off on Franklin Road in Bournville when they found the stash.

After forcing open the front door to silence the alarm, the Fire Service discovered the cannabis plants and immediately called the West Midlands Police.

After responding to the call, the Bournville Police Neighbourhood Team tweeted: “To the residents of Franklin Road, sorry about the noise this morning, needs must.

This find comes less than one month after police seized cannabis plants worth an estimated £250,000 on Dawlish Road.
