Whether we love it or hate it Valentine’s Day is again upon us. I’m sure many of us will be wondering how to spend this disastrously romantic or cringe inducing day. Whether you’re in a relationship, single, or stuck in a messy situationship, avoid any valentines blunders and lets keep this one for the girls. What better way to celebrate the day of love, than by surrounding yourself with your girls and celebrating your friendship? We all know food is the key to everyone’s heart, so there’s no better way to celebrate Galentine’s day than with some homemade treats.

Depending on your culinary skills, you could cook a homemade meal, have a ‘bring a board night’, or simply decorate a cake or some biscuits, because nothing says “I love you” like a homemade sweet treat!

Selly Aldi is stocking valentines themed “bake your own cookie kits”. If you’re feeling on the fancier side,  the TikTok famous “Decorate your own heart shaped kits” are back on shelves at M&S.

Drinkypops

Galentine’s Day wouldn’t be complete without some drinks, so why not make some pink cocktails/mocktails, or host a cocktail night where each guest brings their own signature cocktail.

Alternatively, head into town and try out some of Brum’s best cocktail bars and pubs. Some of our favourite spots include:

Everyone loves a present, so why not treat your friends to a heartfelt gift or card to show them how much they mean to you. Everyone appreciates a handwritten card, some flowers, or a homemade gift, but if you have a little more money to spend, why not arrange a Secret Cupid with your friends.

But how to spend this cold, dark, February night?

Whether you’re having a dinner party, a movie night, or a chilled evening with your friends, entertainment is crucial in perfecting your Galentine’s eve.

If you’re feeling creative you could host a themed quiz or powerpoint night, or bring out the karaoke for some guaranteed good vibes.

Alternatively, if you’re after a more relaxing pamper eve why not create your own spa. Grab some face masks, do your nails, and enjoy a relaxing eve with the girls.

After several cocktails and bottles of wine chances are you’ll all be in the mood party the night away, so why not head into town to Fishies Valentine’s Day special at the O2 Academy (RIP Pryzm).
