Step by step: Here’s exactly how to do the narrator trend you can’t escape on TikTok

The narrator trend is hot on TikTok right now, as people are using AI to seriously romanticise their lives. It is pretty cool, but the novelty has started to wear off now I’ve seen it used on everything from the London Marathon to a day in the life of an unemployed 20 something. And ironically, the second was most interesting.

The trend really makes you feel like you’re the main character – I mean, that’s the whole point. Either way, it’s pretty fun to feel like you’re in a Hallmark movie.

So, here’s exactly how to do the narrator TikTok trend that you’re seeing everywhere

There are a number of different styles and fonts you can use to make this trend personal to you. If you’re wanting to break the fourth wall and interrupt the narrator with a funny quip or correction, you need to write out both a narrator scrips, but also plan our what you’re going to say yourself.

A lot of creators use “day in the life” style content which shows them going about their daily plans as if they’re unknowingly being filmed. But it’s also important to remember to include clips of you chatting back to the narrator, if that’s the vibe you want to go for.

1. Firstly you need to download CapCut and upload your video
2. Go onto the captions section (add captions)
3. Write in the script you want the narrator to say and click “apply”
4. Click “text to speech” and choose a voice you want to narrate your script – remember to adjust the speed to slow it down slightly
5. Edit the font and style (make sure no captions overlap)
