Cancelled lectures? Here’s how to fill your time at Sussex during the strikes

Maybe it’s time to finally address that reading from week one


The first day of the UCU strikes are well underway at Sussex. Absent lecturers and picket lines have left many students purposeless with even more free time on their hands than usual.

To help relieve the boredom, we've compiled a handy guide on how to fill up your time for the remaining 13 days of strikes.

Find your way out of a maze

Thanks to some architectural genius, Sussex has its very own maze in the form of the Silverstone building. Why not head down there, navigate to the top floor and then spend a few hours trying to get out.

Grab some friends and go and eat all of the mozerella sticks in Falmer Bar

Yes, all of them. Until you're told there are no more left.

Queue in the Co-op at lunchtime

That'll while away an hour or so.

Go to East Slope, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over.

Stand outside with a meal deal, bait the unsuspecting bird in, and then engage in an epic Man vs Bird fight for the glory of a ham sandwich.
