Women’s rights may still be a debatable topic in the ever-publicised American Presidential race, but St Andrews is showing its progressive, oh-so-collegiate intelligence as ‘Gender Equality Week’ begins today and lasts through the 28th.

Sponsored by the Equal Opportunities and Welfare team, Gender Equality Week will sponsor seven days-worth of feminist events such as a ‘Women in Finance’ discussion, a Scottish Women’s Aid ‘Get Savvy workshop’ and a ‘Women for Women International’ film screening. Both lads and ladies are encouraged to attend the events, which promise to provide a healthy dose of woman love and power.

Keep an eye on the Facebook page for information about tickets and times, and men: please remember to make your own sandwiches this week.
