Uber suspension has been lifted in Sheffield

It’s a Christmas miracle

Sheffield City Council have lifted the ban on Uber operating in Sheffield.

We reported last week that Uber's license would be suspended in the city from 18th December due to an administration error.

It occurred after the license holder for Sheffield was set to be leaving the company, meaning the license to operate in the city had to be renewed. Despite Uber attempting to renew the license back in October, Sheffield City Council couldn't guarantee the ban would be lifted in time for the busy Christmas period.

The new license application will now be reviewed early next year.

An Uber spokesperson said: “We look forward to continuing to serve tens of thousands of riders and drivers in Sheffield.”
