Guinness Ireland Irish St Patrick's Day

Irish jigs, Guinness and whisky: what more could St. Patrick’s Day bring?

It’s an acquired taste

The biggest event in Liverpool’s social calendar saw everyone unite in pubs across the city to celebrate pretending to be Irish.

St. Patrick’s Day, branded ‘The Friendliest Day of the Year’, kicked off in the early hours of the morning and continued way in to the night.

Both students and Scousers lapped up the Irish music on the only day of the year when it’s acceptable to be seen in a ridiculously large hat.

UoL’s very own quirky ‘Smithdown Sessions’ perfomed a live set at Hannah’s on Hardman Street.

Smithdown Sessions had everyone reeling around

The four students, featuring a particularly amazing violinist, entertained the crowd with traditional Irish songs.
