The Swan is closing and won’t reopen until May 17th due to bad weather

‘We have made the decision to close The Swan in the short-term’

The University of Lincoln’s Students’ Union bar The Swan has confirmed they will be closing temporarily until May 17th due to the upcoming weather forecast.

In a statement on social media, The Swan said: “We have made the decision to close The Swan in the short-term, with the intention of re-opening on Monday May 17th.

“With Government restrictions only allowing us to offer outdoor seating, the weather forecast over the next few weeks means that we won’t be able to offer the standard of customer experience that we want to.

“The impact of the pandemic has also meant a reduction in the size of our staff team, so at this time we need to prioritise our workforce to Towers where we have a much larger covered and heated seating area.”

The Swan reopened on April 12th, along with other SU venues like Towers and The Barge. The Swan originally opened from 11am to 11:30pm, changing their opening times to 4pm.

Towers still remains open, where students are able to order food and drinks from the SU’s Student Order’s App.
