Don’t panic, but KFC have run out of chicken

Branches in Leeds have been closed due to the shortage

A major chicken shortage at KFC has led to the closure of branches in Headingley and the city centre today.

Fried chicken lovers looking for their lunchtime fix were faced with closed doors and empty shops.

KFC say the shortage is due to problems with their new delivery partner, DHL, which failed to deliver chicken to many of the 900 KFC branches.

No finger lickin' chicken for me

This forced the closure of most restaurants across the country, with others operating a limited menu or shortened hours.

In Leeds, only the Harehills branch remained open as of Monday afternoon.

But don't panic, the Colonel is working to fix it.

In a statement on their website, KFC said: "we know that this might have inconvenienced some of you over the last few days, and disappointed you when you wanted your fried chicken fix – we’re really sorry about that.

Shout out to our restaurant teams who are working flat out to get us back up and running again."

Branches in the city centre are set to re-open tomorrow, so you can go back to stuffing your face with lovely greasy chicken.

That's not before the whole country goes into meltdown, though
