Leeds Trinity Centre has been evacuated due to a suspected fire

More information to follow

The Leeds Trinity Centre has just been evacuated due to a suspected fire in the building. A message was played over the tannoy for the unsuspecting shoppers that everyone was to go to the nearest exit immediately and not to use the lifts because a fire had been reported.

A warden commented that it was “A full evacuation, everyone needs to get out. No one is allowed in until we check eveything out.” Everyone is currently waiting outside of the building for more information. Wardens remain on every door.

Staff have been allowed into the building and no fire engines or other emergency vehicles are currently on the scene, but no one else is being admitted to the shopping centre. More information to follow.
