Glasgow is in the top 100 universities in the world

Glasgow University has dropped one spot to become the 63rd best University globally with a score of 71.7 in the QS World Rankings released today.

We came in at the same score as Osaka University in Japan.

Released annually, the QS World Rankings rate Universities according to research, teaching, employability and internationalisation (how well Universities attract students and teachers from overseas). This year, 940 Universities from across the World were included in its ratings.

Glasgow saw a significant drop in Academic Reputation, going down from 87.5 last year to 80 this year meaning, giving it a rank of 79 globally with Employer Reputation also decreasing to 63, ranking it at 145. A rise in the number of students per faculty saw a fall to a global ranking of 176 and a decrease in the amount of work from Glasgow that was cited gave it a rank of 176. However, there was a rise in the number of international staff and students at Glasgow this year, at 91.2 and 96.9 respectively.

Last year, Glasgow was 62nd alongside the US’ Carnegie Mellon University, with a score of 76.8.
