GHK rugby club raising funds by holding Butlers in the Buff evening

Look at those bods

Ladies, get excited: GHK Rugby Club are doing Butlers in the Buff to raise funds for their club, and it’s happening this Saturday.

Amazing

The sixth annual GHK Butlers in the Buff will see the team’s players strip down and serve over 100 ladies in Old Anniesland in the West End. It’s a wee bit different from the normal raffles and quiz nights.

Event organiser and GHK forward Gregor Hollerin said: “For some reason, this event really seems to have struck a chord with the ladies of Glasgow. For years, we worked tirelessly to raise funds for the club and some events worked, others didn’t.

“However, this event is one we’ve been doing for six years now and it gets bigger and better every year. It’s always a great laugh and it shows what a brilliant community we have around the club, as so many ladies come and support us year in year out at this event and that’s what makes it so successful.

“We are amateurs and most of the boys have quite demanding jobs, but the effort we put into training, games, and these fundraisers shows what a fantastic club spirit GHK has.”

The night, which happens on Saturday 7th November and is hosted by Forth 1’s Shiona McMallum, involves multiple events throughout, such as a slave auction, and a beauty pageant.

In the latter event, four of GHK’s star players – full-back Tony Herron, second- rows Nick Hurn and Jeremy Hanks, and flanker Jamie Maclean – will compete for the title of “Mr Anniesland” with guests voting on the winner.

The team are fundraising for their tour to Toronto in May. There, they will play some top Canadian teams, including Balmy Beach, Oakville and Ontario Blues.

They’re also releasing a naked calendar. 2016 can be the year you get to have the GHK team naked on your wall.
