Not another uni video

It’s just embarassing

STV described it as “heart warming and chest swelling”, but Glasgow uni’s new video is actually cliché and cringey.

Glasgow is a fantastic city with a great University, but it’s videos like this that tarnish its reputation.

The falseness of every prospectus or University video released up and down the country, with lecture halls packed to the rafters, and students giggling and lapping up the perpetual sun, is painfully obvious to those actually at uni.

Even some of the actors in this one only turned up to two or three seminars last year.

Hark back to 1834, if something similar had been shot, would we have seen Lord Kelvin skipping around the quadrangle enjoying lunch with his pals?

Is Adam Smith walking down Ashton Lane on the cover of some before unseen prospectus of 1740?

Is Gerard Butler enjoying a pint and engaging in heated political debate down the beer bar in the video made for 1993? OK, maybe that is something we  would all love to see, but that’s besides the point.

We love you Glasgow.

So please, stop the cheesy videos, and gie us peace.
