Edinburgh Fives is in progress right now

Ali Reid is on his way across the country

Business Management fresher Ali Reid lost a game of high stakes fives last night, and is now on the train to Edinburgh.

The hockey club tradition requires a fresher to traverse the length of the country, visit Edinburgh, and return the same day after a quick stop off to greet representatives of Edinburgh’s own hockey team.

An Edinburgh native, Ali is forced to visit his hometown today, come back, and then return home for the end of term on Saturday.

Ali said: “I fucked up the trains a bit but apart from that it’s decent.”

Exeter’s hockey club captain said: “The final was an intense spectacle, game ability was poor by this stage due to high levels of panic from the participants and one too many cider blacks.

“The journey has been eventful.

“He got kicked off one train because he didn’t have a railcard.

“Now he is on a different train that gets to edinburgh late so has had to change which train he comes back on too.”
