Winter Weather Warning

Met Office predicts ‘Big Freeze’ to hit Exeter this winter

| UPDATED Exeter Met Office Snow the tab the tab exeter winter

Forget saving the pennies on heating bills, temperatures are set to plummet in Exeter this week and remain below the winter average until March.

The Met Office has sent warnings that the north will soon have snow and the south may not be far behind, with an icy blast coming our way as they predict December will be colder than average.

If things get this bad expect an explosion of Hunter wellies across campus

Last year’s winter saw the South West death figures rise above 3000, a 27% rise due to the harsh conditions and it is set to rise again in the next few months.

With one of the worst winters in history heading our way, James Madden, forecaster for Exacta Weather, said: “January in particular could see temperatures hovering at several degrees below the seasonal average for a prolonged period of time.”

With that in mind, remember not to swap your winter wardrobe for your summer one when you go home for Christmas.

But, then again, Exeter will probably seem tropical if you’re from up north.
