Rain Stops Play On Ashes Cricket 2013

Video game featuring EUMCC to be released in November.

Remember those dashing chaps in the Forum in February begging you to vote them onto a video game?

EUMCC’s valiant campaigning efforts saw them win a place on the Ashes Cricket 2013 video game and the chance to face up against the likes of Graeme Swann and Peter Siddle.

With the third test of the Ashes series looming on Thursday, the game is yet to be released.

Cricket fans and gamers alike were disappointed by the news delivered this morning by the old guy from “Up”.

This morning, Mike Fegan from Trickstar Games, the team behind the game, announced the postponement of the game’s release until November, explaining that the game is “not at a stage where we can release it…it’s just not good enough.”

In a 5-minute video, Fegan stated how Trickstar “don’t want to put out an inferior product, and we certainly don’t want to tarnish our reputation or the reputation of our publisher 505 Games.”

Joe Barrs, the outgoing first XI captain of EUMCC, said “it’s a tad disappointing that we won’t be able to enjoy the game this summer, right when the country is going mad about the Ashes and the inevitable success of the the England team.

“But given that it is now set to release between the Ashes in England this summer and the Ashes down under next winter, it is probably a more appropriate time to be releasing it, given that there is a team from Australia as well as Exeter on the game.”

Reports that the postponement is due to a wasteful review by Shane Watson are thus far unconfirmed.
