Cardiff University staff are going on strike

They’re striking over a national dispute on pay

Members of The University College Union (UCU) are scheduled to go on strike next week over a national dispute about pay.

The strike is due to last two days, taking place on the 25th and 26th May.

The University has announced they are taking the effort to ensure the strikes do not impact students

The industrial action applies to all UK universities, yet it is estimated that the overall numbers of Cardiff University staff taking part will be extremely small, with students noticing very little change.

The proposed industrial action will have no impact on this year’s graduation. Exams and submission deadlines will also proceed as scheduled.

Although the university will do everything it can do make sure the marking of papers by staff is unaffected during the period, it cannot guarantee that all necessary grades or papers will be returned on time.

All schools within the university are aware of the proposed strikes, and in the event of any disruption they will ensure that extra resources are available.
