Clare May Ball: FIRST ANNOUNCEMENTS
ARTFUL DODGER and BARELY LEGAL will be coming to Clare this summer.
UK garage duo Artful Dodger, and grime DJ Barely Legal, will be minor headliners at Clare’s ‘the Orient Express’ 2016 May Ball in association with Clare Ents.
MC Alistair and David Low, known collectively as Artful Dodger, have produced a string of chart topping hits and remixes – such as the infectiously catchy 1999 hit ‘Re-rewind’ featuring Craig David.
Their platinum selling album, It’s All About The Stragglers (2000) also includes contemporary tracks such as ‘Woman Trouble’ and ‘Please Don’t Turn Me On’.
The duo have played alongside some of the biggest artists in the music business such as Busta Rhymes , Calvin Harris, Chipmunk, Amerie, Wretch 32, N Dubz, Pro Green and Taio Cruz to name but a few. As a result, their MC/DJ reputation has rocketed. Having been tearing up dance floors for over ten years now, we have no doubt that Artful Dodger will cause a storm at Clare.
Also appearing at Clare May Ball 2016 is DJ Chloe Robinson, aka Barely Legal.
Representing the fresh blood behind the current revival of UK garage and Grime, Barely Legal is constantly churning out big mixes for the likes of Radio 1, Rinse and i-D.
Fall in a trance.
Chloe played her first ever Warehouse Project alongside bass deity Four Tet in 2013, caused frenzy on the main stage at London’s Field Day in 2014, and supported Hannah Wants on her 2015 sold out tour. With sets at Ibiza Rocks and Bestival alongside a fourth appearance at Outlook still to come this year, Barley Legal is definitely not to be missed at Clare 2016.
Clare May Ball is unfortunately currently sold out, so if you haven’t already secured a ticket, you’ll need to hunt around. Clare’s main headliner will be announced within the next few week, and with Professor Green headlining Clare in 2015, we’re expecting big things for this year!
Remember to keep checking the Tab for updates on all the May Balls.
