Cambridge Market is waking to up say “Bonjour!” (Bonjour, bonjour, bonjour!). Follow Deana to meet the faces behind the stalls:

Bernard makes and sells these Belgian waffles. Apparently they are the country’s most famous product. This recipe is from Liege.

Robbie used to be a personal trainer. He prefers the flexibility of having his own business and spends days away from the market at auctions and bootsales. His girlfriend used to go to Lucy Cavendish.
Laura’s favourite is the 5 year old gouda. She helps out on this stall some days but David Fishman runs it. He sources and ripens the cheeses himself.
“Susanna makes and designs her own jewellery. She opened up this stall after retiring from a job in electronic high tech. She prefers the jewellery business as there are far fewer men!”
Brenda (in red) is married to Brian (away on a music search), who is a school friend of John (leather jacket). The three of them run this stall together as their retirement project. Music has long been a passion of Brian and John’s. John’s favourite is blues and 60s soul, he recommends Marvin Gaye and Ike Turner.
These guys fix around 50 bikes a day.
Chris has worked on this stall since his school days. It’s a family business which has been going since the early sixties.
Carrots do not make you see in the dark, but they do help you tan.
