Blue Mountain set to close down in September after 28 years

The owners of the venue want to reclaim the building for future developments

Blue Mountain has announced that it will be closing down in September, for real this time, after 28 years of raving.

The owners of the venue are reclaiming the property from the club owners for their future plans to develop the site.

In a Facebook post, Blue Mountain said: “It’s with heavy heart that we have to announce that we will be closing from mid September.

“We have exhausted all avenues to try to allow us to remain open.”

They also said that due to Covid-19, they will not be able to have a final goodbye party: “We will not get to have a proper send off with some closing raves due to the coronavirus situation of not allowing us to operate as a normal club.”

For the time being, their rooftop terrace will remain open.

In the post, Blue Mountain thanked the developers for letting them stay open as a club for so long, and “wish them all the best with their future project of the site”.

They also thanked their loyal base of ravers, staff, artists and promoters because “without you guys we wouldn’t of been here as long”.
