Breaking: Violence has broken out between protesters and police at ‘All Lives Matter’ protest

Horses have been brought in to control the crowds

Violence has broken out between protesters and police at the All Lives Matter Protest in Bristol.

Protesters can be seen throwing unidentifiable objects at police, shouting obscenities and arguing with police.

The violence was reported to have broken out in response to the protesters jumping on Black Lives Matter signs, which resulted in a clash between protesters and counter protesters.

The All Lives Matter protesters and Black Lives Matter protesters have been separated by a police line, and are arguing across it.

This police line has been expanded into traffic.

All Lives Matter protesters are responding with revs from their motorcycles and honking their horns.

The protesters and counter protesters have engaged in back-and-fourths across the police line, with the counter protesters shouting “Churchill was a Paedo” and the All Lives Matter protesters shouting “You’re traitors to our country”.

The All Lives Matter protesters have been reported to have brought alcohol with them.

Our reporter on the scene Ben Bloch says “It was very tense for a while, but has calmed down now. Police are keeping protesters very separate, so confrontation is at a minimum. We will see how it develops – this is not over yet.”

Police have now cordoned off the protesters and are blocking entry to the area. Black Lives Matter protesters have been pushed back and are being kept completely separate from All Lives Matter protesters.

This is an updating story.
