Selly Sausage up for sale
Where are we going to get our post-Fab breakfasts now?!
Legendary Selly cafe and our favourite Bristol Road haunt is up for sale.
The Selly Sausage was founded by UoB graduates 24 years ago and has been curing our hangovers ever since, but now its era is drawing to a close.
The legendary cafe has been perfect for all occasions, being both cafe and bar with a license to serve alcohol until 11pm.
Its lease is available for just £85,000.
Andy Tudor, who is helping to sell the Sausage, described it as an “institution”, saying: “To a generation or more of Birmingham University undergraduates, The Selly Sausage has been an institution.
“Lying on the doorstep of the main campus, it has fuelled the minds, and possibly eased the hangovers, of students for 25 years.
“Complete with an 11pm drinks licence and a six-bedroomed flat above, it is so much more than a cafe and could be adapted to any number of other styles or uses.”
Faye is in her final year studying English Literature and Creative Writing, she worries she won’t be able to be fully recognised as a UoB student without having sampled the legendary breakfasts served at the Selly Sausage.
She told The Tab: “Eating at Selly Sausage is a right of passage for every Brum student.
“I’ve never eaten at Selly Sausage and maybe now I never will. Can I graduate?”
Bye bye to the sausage, rest peacefully.
