BBC’s Doctors was filmed at the Guild earlier

A scene for BBC drama Doctors was being filmed on campus earlier today.

Using The Guild as their setting, the short scene involved a police car, eight crew and two actors on set.

One of the runners told The Tab: “We actually film at The University of Birmingham quite a lot, but usually when the students are in class.

“The university is affiliated with BBC Birmingham, so we use the campus for our locally filmed shows like Doctors.”

Is there a Doctor on campus?

If you’re hoping to catch a view of The Guild in the episode, there’s a bit of a wait.

The runner added: “We film episodes three months in advance, so this won’t go out for a little while yet.

“But you should still watch the show.”

The atmosphere was very casual before the last scene was filmed, as the director asked his crew: “Are we actually going to film this scene or not?”

Do I need a TV licence to watch this?

So if you were in and around The Guild this morning, there might a strong chance you could appear on the BBC in a few month’s time.
