‘The best sister’: Sydney Towle’s brother posts heartbreaking message as influencer dies at 26

Her mum has also spoken out

Instagram and TikTok have flooded with condolence messages after the death of influencer Sydney Towle was confirmed by her family.

The influencer, who had 1.2 million followers on TikTok and over 200k on Instagram, had been battling cancer for the past three years. In 2023, she was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare cancer that forms in the group of tubes that connects the liver, gallbladder and small intestine.

Following five months of gruelling chemotherapy and immunotherapy, most of Sydney’s remaining cancer was removed by surgery. Sadly, an MRI a few months later confirmed a new lesion. It had doubled in size just a month after that.

“I don’t think I’ve processed it,” she said at the time. “I’ve kind of disassociated from it.”

On August 4, 2026, Sydney Towle was moved into hospice care, her family confirmed. She passed away just a day later on August 5.

In an announcement posted to all of Sydney’s social media accounts, her family confirmed her passing at the age of 26.

“We will always love you so much Sydney. I am so proud of how hard you fought. I love you,” they wrote in the Instagram caption, adding in the post itself, “An endless ray of sunshine. A daughter, sister, and friend to so many.”

Her comment section quickly became a memorial, with one of her friends writing: “My life will never be the same without you here. You’re taking a piece of my heart with you, and I don’t think I’ll ever get it back. I love you so much, Syd. Thank you for changing my life. I trust that Heaven has gained the most beautiful angel, and I know you’ll always be with us.”
