Full police statement as Perez Hilton is hospitalised after graphic self-h*rm livestream video

Police were sent to the home of Perez Hilton last night, after reports he was self-harming himself and livestreaming the incident in a video posted to TikTok. Emergency services were seen outside the home of the celebrity blogger on Tuesday night.

The video is reported to have shown the dad of three covered in blood, holding a knife, making cuts to his body and face. The sheriff’s office has since said it responded to the incident, and spoke to family members at the scene.

As per NBC, a spokesperson for the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to reports of someone “who was livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media.” Hilton’s TikTok account was suspended moments later.

Reports claim there had been “multiple” calls made to 911 from concerned members of the public, as Perez, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr, “barricaded” himself inside his home.

In a follow-up statement, the sheriff’s office confirmed the person was “safely recovered” and taken to a local hospital, where he was receiving medical attention. The police spokesperson added: “Deputies tactically disengaged while continuing to monitor the situation.”

The sheriff said: “In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritise de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication. Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilising crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimise the risk of injury to the individual, deputies and the public.”

Perez Hilton’s representatives, Golden Artists Entertainment, released a statement, and said: “We are aware of the concerning content circulating online involving our client.

“At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him, despite our ongoing efforts to reach him. Our primary concern is Perez’s health and well being, as well as the well being of his family.”
