All the returning Squid Game characters you didn’t realise are in both seasons
There are loads of familiar faces
Everyone is talking about Squid Game season two after it finally arrived on Netflix last week.
The second installment follows Player 456, Gi-hun, as he re-enters the Squid Game to try and take down its evil creator.
It features loads of new additions, including Thanos, who is a rapper in real life, and the first transgender character Hyan-Ju.
There are lots of returning people too, and we’re not just talking about Gi-Hun, The Front Man, Jun-ho and The Recruiter.
Here are all the characters you didn’t realise are in both seasons of Squid Game.
Jung-Bae
We are introduced to Jung-Bae as Gi-Hun’s old friend and co-worker as they coincidentally come across each other in the Squid Game. Most people assumed he was a new character, but he was actually in season one. In a quick scene near the start, we saw him gambling with Gi-Hun at the horse racing track.
Mr. Kim
Another character you didn’t notice in both seasons is the loan shark Mr. Kim. In season one, we see him beat up Gi-Hun in the bathroom at the race track as he owed him money. In the second season, he’s then one of the men who’s working with Gi-Hun to track down The Recruiter.

North Korean Defector Shelter Employee
The broker who Player 067, Sae-byeok, went to see in season one is also the same guy that Guard 011, No-Eul, visits in season two. He helps her escape North Korea and tries to find her missing baby, and people are convinced the characters are linked in some way.
Kang Cheol and Sang-woo’s mother

Sae-byeok’s little brother Kang Cheol also makes a brief appearance in season two when Gi-hun watches him from the other side of the street. Gi-Hun asked San-woo’s mother to take him in after his sister tragically died in Squid Game season one.
