This small but crucial detail proved the Front Man’s true intentions in Squid Game all along
I can’t believe we all missed it!
Squid Game 2 has taught is all one important lesson: Never trust Player 001. The latest episodes saw us find out the Front Man had entered himself into the games, alongside Gi-hun. Chaos.
For most of the time, we couldn’t really decide on Player 001’s motives. Was he honestly playing along to see what it was like? Did he want to protect Gi-hun? Was he there to stop Gi-hun from overturning the games as he planned? It was all very mysterious.
Then *spoiler alert* the final episode happened. Gi-hun and some of the remaining players planned a revolt against the guards. It failed, but for a long time it looked as though they might have got to the control room, and killed the games’ leaders. So, right at the last minute, Player 001 staged his death and got back into his role as the Squid Game Front Man, killing Gi-hun’s friend in front of him. But should we have seen this coming from ages before?
So, did we all just miss this detail about the Front Man (Player 001) in Squid Game 2?
The Front Man, or Player 001, trying to throw the games and not at all being a nice guy was staring us right in the face during Squid Game 2. TikTok has pointed out a small, but nonetheless critical detail about him that proves it.

We first met the Front Man in season one, and there were two major scenes with him. One saw him sat in a private room during the games, drinking and observing the mess he had made. In it, he’s sipping his drink with his left hand. Then, at the end of the first season, he shot his police officer brother. Again, using his left hand. So… the Front Man is a leftie.

Fast forward to Squid Game 2 and we’re seeing him as Player 001. In the game where the teams were tied together around their ankles and made to play games back to back, Player 001 kept throwing his spinner and it didn’t land. But, he was using his right hand! Then, when he finally landed the throw, it was the first time he’d thrown it left handed.

He was doing it all on purpose! He was clearly wasting time, and trying to make it look as though he wasn’t very good at the game, as to not raise suspicion. Then, he’d later be able to shut down the revolt and return to his role as Front Man.
