Warwick runs out of face masks and thermometers for students

Student helpers advise visiting Senate House next week

Reusable face coverings and thermometers are out of supply from the University. Warwick had offered a free face covering and thermometer to all students and staff, however the stock has run out for the week.

The items were assured to be delivered to the university community in a number of ways. For those in on-campus accommodation, these were supplied within students’ rooms and staff were to receive theirs via their department.

For those living off-campus, face coverings and thermometers were to be made available for collection from the student information point on the Piazza for students until tomorrow (Friday 2nd October). After that time, students are asked to visit the student reception in Senate House to collect them.

However, both face coverings and masks are out of supply as of today (1st October). Welcome Helpers at Senate House and the student information point on the Piazza advised returning to campus the following week, when stock might be replenished.

Face masks are mandatory in a number of areas on campus. The University’s rules on face coverings go beyond the UK Government’s requirements, and students must be wearing a face covering during seminars, in crowded outdoor spaces, when moving around halls and when working indoors.

University of Warwick has been approached for comment.
