Sheffield has ranked 26th in the UK’s best places to find a drinking spot

Sheffield has been ranked as the 26th best city to find a place to drink in an index by Get Licensed.

By compiling a number of factors including the price of a pint and the number of bars, clubs and pubs, the company has created a list of the top 50 drinking spots in the UK.

With a population of 544,402, Sheffield has around 24.06 bars and clubs per 100,000 people.

The city also has 117.01 pubs per 100,000 people, which doesn’t even begin to put it in the top spot .

Huddersfield takes that medal, with 305.99 pubs per 100,000 people, making it one of the best drinking spots in the UK.

The average price of a pint in Sheffield, according to the index, was £3.69 in March 2022. Though looking at the source of this information, Numbeo, this has risen to £4.

Overall, the average night out drinking score for the city sits at 4.46 out of ten.
